In this writing, I am wrapping up my Mom’s estate by selling the last pieces of her furniture. Furniture that I grew up with. Furniture that formed cherished memories. The folks who purchased the last of the bigger pieces lost their 7 year old son to the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary.
To think that I anticipated that my heart would break as I broke loose from the sentimental grip of my Mother’s memory through her belongings.
My heart weighed heavy and not quite broken for the loss of the children and teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary. My heart weighed heavy and not quite broken for the parents who may grieve the rest of their lifetime. You offer me bands filled with intentions of kindness. I offer you a paho prayer feather.
May you be showered with deep compassion and as much comfort that I can give away.
