~Biography - Lisa Angela Diaz Espejo Starr~

Lisa’s Colombian/Puerto Rican heritage emerges today with the Medicine of the Drum.

She practices daily rituals and ceremonies much like her Great Grandmother, the village midwife and medicine woman in her day.  For our contemporary times, Lisa draws upon her Ancestral Lineage and Ceremonial Shamanic experiences to recognize current earth cycles and patterns of modern day life within an ancient practice.  Her wisdom, presence, creative talents can assist you in recognizing messages from nature and the messages from all your relationships around and within you.  Understanding and identifying these messages is the first step toward self empowerment to bring confidence and peace in everyday life. 

Making drums for over a decade,she has her own business crafting shamanic drums, teaching workshops and healing with Drum Medicine. Her wisdom and experience is shared in the richness of ritual, ceremony and healing for groups and individuals.

Drum Making ~ you will learn how the crafting of your personal sacred instrument is a reflection of your creative and authentic expression.  Just the beginning of revealing your relationship to your essence. 

Drum Medicine ~ you will experience a deep compassionate perspective to gain a better understanding of core challenges your life.  Divination, Body work, Drum Journey, Energy Clearing plus simple instructions and exercises for continued practices

Lisa's reverence to the sacred and to Earth and Sky has led her and her partner, Gabriel, to there current project of building Bonita Domes, a private home retreat in Joshua Tree California. We welcome you to come for a Drum Making Journey Reatreat, stay in one or our Sleep Pods and to learn more about our holistic approach to building sustainably with community.

~Philosophy~

In my life as a traditional Medicine Woman in our contemporary times, I live and practice daily ritual beginning with greeting the sun in a ceremony with water, cornmeal and prayer.  I call out prayers of  gratitude for my life, for the life of my children and for the life all my relations. I practice inviting the divine union of Earth Mother and Sky Father into my being which ignites the light within.  

When we call in the light into our body, our heart  and our spirit we begin to see the esoteric mapping and patterns reflected in the mundane physical world.  Synchronicity and messages are revealed within our interactions to one another, nature itself and all life around us.  The illusion of separation of the Spiritual and Physical is revealed and becomes an illusion no more.  If we pay attention, be aware and shift our perspective, these revelations become guides and allies for our actions and we begin to understand our purpose and our fears and challenges.

We learn how we are empowered co-creators of our lives.

I fall in Love with this divine orchestration of life and believe that this is where creation is born and reborn again.
