Drum Making
The drum is an accessible tool that allows us to express the natural rhythms found within us. The beat of the drum connects and relaxes us with the rhythms of our bodies and Spirit opening pathways to connect with nature, each other and All Our Relations. This relationship begins here through your unique artistic journey of co-creation with your sacred hide, the wood and their banding together in union.
Hand Craft your Own Drum Beater
We will go into nature to find our stick and give offerings. Then we'll whittle, sand, burn and stain or wax our sticks into a handle. We will use llama wool and hand sew leather craft for the head.
The class is three hours, please bring a jackknife, water and a light snack.
Cost: $10
One Day Drum Making Workshop
This powerful workshop includes materials to make your own one sided drum and includes a finished drum stick. In this workshop you will learn about making lace out of raw hide and the process of drum making. There will be a brief lecture on how to consecrate and journey with your drum and care insturctions.
Workshop is 10am to 7pm The workshop may go overtime due to the nature of drum making.
Cost: $195.00 per person due minimal 10 days prior to schduled event.
$50 non-refundable fee if canceled by student less than 7 days prior to event.
Two Day Drum Making Workshop
This powerful 2 day workshop includes materials to make your own one side drum and drum stick and we will make our lace out of raw hide.
Talking Circle, ritual and ceremony are included with an experiential drum journey and consecration ceremony.
Each day is a pot luck lunch.
Workshop is 10am to 5pm daily. Each day may go overtime due to the nature of drum making.
Cost: $275 per person due minimal 10 days prior to event.

Three Day Drum Making Workshop and Camping Retreat~Joshua Tree, CA
This 3 day retreat we will gather in community as was done in ancient times. This retreat includes materials to make your own one side drum and drum stick, camping, two breakfasts and one lunch. Talking circle, ritual and ceremony are includes in the experiential drum journey and consecration ceremony.
In this workshop we will start from the beginning soaking and cutting the hides, preparing our hoops and making our own lace out of raw hide.
Workshop is 10am to 5pm daily
Each day may go overtime due to the nature of drum making.
Cost: $350 per person due minimal 10 days prior to event
